Early Voting in Knox Co. Brisk

By John Szink Oct 15, 2024 | 12:17 PM

Knox County Clerk David Shelton says early voting in Knox County is off to a great start, with over 800 early, in-person voters visiting the former work release center during the first four days.

The voting center is located across the street from the county courthouse at 135 North 8th Street in Vincennes.

Shelton says two hours into voting on Tuesday saw nearly 100 voters.

He says these numbers are exceeding 2020 early in-person voting.

There have been 571 absentee ballots by mail sent out.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is Thursday, October 24th.

The public is advised that the United States Postal Service has experienced delays because all local mail is routed to Louisville, Kentucky, for sorting before being returned to the area for delivery.

Early voting will continue weekdays from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm at the former Work Release Building.

Saturday voting will be available on October 26 and November 2nd, from 8:00 am until 3:00pm at the former Work Release Building, as well as the Blue Jeans Center in Monroe City and the Bicknell Firehouse, located at 210 E 1st Street.
