A Knox County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a Monroe City man on felony drug charges Thursday night during a traffic stop on State Road 61 near South Knox High School.
38-year-old Matthew Livermore was pulled over because his vehicle’s license plate light was out.
Livermore did not have a license or insurance on the vehicle.
A police K-9 alerted deputies to the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle deputies found four grams of methamphetamine and 33 grams of heroin.
Livermore was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was also cited for having no driver’s license or insurance.
Livermore was being held in the Knox County Jail on $15,000 bond Friday morning.
