Over 1,000 Bills Fail to Pass Muster in 2025 Indiana General Assembly

The Indiana General Assembly has narrowed down over 1,250 bills to about 340 that can move forward, with measures on birth control, bats, gambling, and marijuana likely to be revisited next year.

Legislation regulating vehicle towing faced challenges and failed to meet a critical deadline.

Attempts to legalize online gambling, designate a state mammal and fruit, require video surveillance in special education classrooms, expand access to birth control, and relocate a casino license also faced setbacks.

Bills on marijuana, utility infrastructure projects, abolishing the death penalty, and controlling healthcare costs encountered obstacles and did not advance.
