Today is the Sunday Finale and the Birds look to get their brooms out to sweep the series.

The “Youngry” Redbirds have started the season 2-0 and are off to about as good of a start as you could ask for. So far the St. Louis Cardinals have outscored the Minnesota Twins 10-4 in this series and have been led by their dynamic leadoff hitter Lars Nootbaar. Noot is 4-7 with 1 HR and 4 RBI and been a true spark plug getting the boys rolling. Erick Fedde was solid in his season debut pitching 6 IP and allowing only 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 2 and walking none. Ryan Fernandez and JoJo Romero both had scoreless outings and rubber armed Phil Maton came in to close the door after Brendan Donovan supplied an 8th inning insurance run to push the game to a non-save situation, something the Cardinals offense didn’t do enough of last season.

How to watch:

Watch on: FanDuel Sports Midwest

Listen on: KMOX 1120 AM/104.1 FM, WJIR AM 880 (En Espanol)

Players to watch:

STL- Lars Nootbaar: Through the first 2 games of the season Nootbaar has easily been the most pop off the screen player being a major contributor on offense and playing stellar defense. A healthy Nootbaar is an extremely exciting player with high upside with the bat and is showing his impact early.

MIN- Trevor Larnach: Between Larnach and Willi Castro this was a little bit tougher of a call. Those two have swung the bat the best in this series so far for the Twins but my pick today will go with the bat with a little more upside. Larnach in the cleanup spot is 3-6 with 1 BB and 2 runs scored. Its been a series to forget for the Twins two most prolific hitters in the lineup between Correa and Buxton. Hopefully their bats stay silent 1 more day and they get on track starting Monday.
