The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office says a 17-year-old boy has died from injuries received when he was hit by a Prairieton/Prairie Creek Fire Department pick-up truck heading to a brush fire.
It happened on Wednesday night around 10:30 on Paddock Place.
The sheriff’s office today identified the youth as Tyler Wilson who lived in Vigo County.
Wilson was flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he died Thursday.
Early investigation indicates Wilson likely started the brushfire, which resulted in the fire department and deputies being dispatched to the location.
Preliminary drug and alcohol results came back negative for the Prairieton/Prairie Creek Fire Department member driving the pick-up truck.
No charges are being filed in the incident.
